Following the Argentinian Aylu footwork kept in the spirit of the musique concrète tradition, the next producer of the female series of grooves is AGF. ...

Antye has been active on the music scene since the 90s. She has been involved in various unusual artistic initiatives as a curator (SoCCoS residency project), co-author of various music albums (in The Lappetites, with Craig Armstrong, Vladislav Delay, Zavaloka), or in her solo activity. In her work she often uses voice, which becomes a tool of narration or processing, and materialises in the language or the programming code (KON:3p>UTION to: e-[VOL]ution).

In the AGF’s grooves, the Antye’s voice is reduced to single momentous phrases (groove 5.2) or some repetitive melodic associations (groove 5.1). In both the tracks, the massive baseline and rhythmizations prevail in the foreground. The groove 5.1 pulsates wobbly to an uneven tempo. And in the groove 5.2 the pulse gets stretched between the points of silence. AGF embellishes the grooves’ austere foreground with some penetrating sharp particles.

In her work AGF uses various techniques of expression, however, she mostly bets on simple solutions and tools. This is this simplicity of the fifth part of the grooves series that drives the Antye’s music resulting in the two hypnotic and looped wholes.
